100th post

In honor of my 100th post... These took forever to think of!!! I love reading other people's so I thought I would put mine out there.

1. i am almost 100% Scandanavian- about 70% Norwegian and about 25% Swedish and the other 5% is random
2. a lot of the time i treat my dog as my child- and i think that is ok
3. i love coming home to a fire in the fireplace
4. i doubt a day has ever gone by without eating chocolate
5. i enjoy giving gifts but only if i think they are really good- i hate giving a gift just to give a gift. that's stupid to me. it has to be specific to that person
6. i wish i didn't check blogs or my email so often. i try to not get on my computer after work. i waste too much time on it
7. i drink at home exclusively from tervis tumbler cups. you know the insulated ones. i almost always have one with me with water in it. i just like them better
8. corndogs make me really happy. strange i know. the ones that are really fried. kanakuk makes the best ones.
9. i wish i was more of a do-er than i am. especially with church stuff. it annoys me when people talk about their passions in ministry or faults of the church but are doing nothing about them. therefore, i try to not criticize these things because i don't do a good job of volunteering to help fix them. conversely, i don't call things passions in ministry if i do nothing about them or to serve the people i am "passionate" about.
10. it takes me quite a while to wake up in the morning. i would prefer not to have customers until 30 minutes after i open because i am a little grumpy.
11. i have 20/20 vision
12. rachel got me started on this blog thing and i think i like it. online journals are fun.
13. i really only wear cotton knit shirts. i have slowly seen this about myself so now i try to not buy anything else because they just hang in my closet.
14. green is my favorite color
15. dessert is my favorite part of every meal.
16. all the girls on my mom's side are blonde except my mom
17. i chipped my front tooth surfing in hawaii. it used to be a cool story until my tooth started turning yellow. it will die soon then i don't know what i will do. i notice it so much.
18. i won't talk if i don't have anything to add to a conversation
19. i love reading. i think jodi picoult is my favorite author overall. her books are just so interesting
20. my family went to a dude ranch in wyoming for 5 years. i feel as though i am a competent horse rider even though i haven't done it in years. we did 2 rides a day for a week and 1 all day ride.
21. i was a kamper at Kanakuk for 8 years and worked there for 4 and met my husband there. best place on earth.
22. i feel my husband is the greatest and perfect for me. we complement each other and he makes me better
23. i really like cooking from cookbooks and the whole process of deciding what to make
24. i am lucky to have awesome in laws
25. father of the bride is my favorite movie
26. we probably quote sweet home alabama the most
27. i stay in very close contact to my family- we talk daily
28. bathing suits make me very self conscious
29. i'm very happy in my job but don't really like working. i don't get bored, so i think i would be a great stay at home wife. working gets in the way. :) as dad says, work is over rated
30. i have been carrying the same purse for almost 2 years now. seriously it's time for a new one
31. i love gossip girl. i wish i didn't but i just really do.
32. we would love to have four kids
33. sometimes i have a hard time eating meals i make if they smell bad before cooked- like canned chicken, i know it's good but it just smells so bad coming out the can that it's hard for me to eat even after cooked. if someone else makes it, i'm fine
34. when i work i drink a coke around 3 every day. it just keeps me going for the long 12 hour day. that is usually the time i start dragging
35. i cry a lot. more than i would like too. usually it is with adam. not always when i'm sad, sometimes i just cry for no reason. happy or sad. it's strange. i don't know.
36. i hate ketchup.
37. i think auburn is the greatest place in the world and am so happy i went to college there. i grew there the most i think than any other stage of my life.
38. i remember names and faces of people i meet. sometimes i don't admit to it if i have no reason for knowing that person. like i remember in high school having a conversation with a friend who didn't know someones name in the class below us. i knew every single person's name at my school. granted it was only 300ish people i though it was very strange to not know everyone's name.
39. so, it annoys me when i "meet" someone 8 times. this happened a lot in college. i used to just ignore it when someone said nice to meet you but now i try to remind them where we met. i don't want them to feel bad about forgetting me but at the same time maybe it will jog their memory.
40. i have to guard my food. i never let adam eat off my plate until i'm finished. i eat slow and he eats fast so there would be no food left for me. i give him my plate when i'm finished
41. i am the oldest. i think that there are 2 types of middle children. my sister is one type and my dad is the other.
42. i have a hard time seeing faults in my family. i love them so i think i overlook them. or justify them.
43. i have a very weird and irrational fear of balloons. clearly something happened in my childhood. i squint my eyes and move around every time i see them. i don't know.
44. im afraid of heights but love roller coasters. when i'm strapped in i'm not scared.
45. i love gummy bears and would eat them every day if i could- haribo and black forest are the best brands
46. i have backpacked europe twice- once with college friends and once with rachel and chris. i think everyone should do it at least once. shaped who i am today.
47. i love my zagat guide for restaurant searching. picking out good food is fun for me.
48. i was president of diamond dolls at auburn and absolutely loved every minute of it- hostesses for auburn baseball
49. i lived in the dorm for 2 years. i really liked it but was ready for an apartment.
50. i have maybe emptied the dishwasher 5 times. adam always does it.
51. i didn't date anyone in college
52. Rachel calls my eyes "pee" green. nice.
53. i value girl friends and enjoy my time with them
54. consequently, i have never had lots of guy friends.
55. i'm wary of girls who have only guy friends
56. i don't have a bachelor's degree. just doctor of pharmacy
57. boys aren't always good judges of character in my biased opinion
58. i can see attraction between a guy and girl quickly- months before adam. it's funny.
59. i tell my brother to never date a girl with intentionally messy hair
60. i value my relationship with my brother and sister- we usually talk a couple times a week
61. i talk to mom and dad at least once a day
62. casual conversation doesn't do much for me.
63. my friends and i made up fake names to tell people in europe. i was riley. we still sometimes use them.
64. not getting into details about what makes a person who they are is hard for me to leave a conversation without
65. people who talk about themselves a lot or mention their profession several times per conversation drive me nutso
66. it immediately turns me off to them- i need to work on that too because usually i think it is insecurity on their part
67. i'm not impressed by professions of people and don't choose friends by that- ie because you do something important doesn't make me like them more or less- unless they talk about how important they are- then much less
68. i did competitive gymnastics for 4ish years.
69. i was a cheerleader in junior then it wasn't cool to do in high school so naturally i quit
70. i was never cool in high school
71. and i'm ok with that
72. k-life was my life saver in high school. i did everything with them. i still keep in touch with one of my bible study leaders. i did have some crazy ones too
73. i grew up in 2 houses. 1 in dallas until i was 2 then the same house my entire life in waco.
74. since waco, i have lived in 7 different places
75. i really enjoy chemistry
76. fun dresses make me happy- simple i know
77. i never thought i would live in a big city but i love atlanta
78. i think auburn is the perfect city- small, nice people, big college for athletics
79. baylor baseball was fun outing for our family, we had season tickets and i hardly missed games
80. it fueled the fire for my auburn baseball love
81. my parents set great examples for us and loved us through everything
82. i never had a curfew
83. but i never needed one- i don't think i was ever out past 12 unless i was sitting on the couch at lacy's house talking- i was a crazy one

87. jalepeno kettle chips are my favorite
88. i work out a couple times a week- i hope i do it forever
89. i take really long showers like really long
90. i like coke best. over crushed ice > coke in a can > coke over regular ice > coke in a bottle is last
91. at some time every day i think how happy i am to be married to adam- we laugh constantly and are perfect for each other
92. i get jealous of people who have "work friends". i work with 1 girl every single day and love her but a lot of people make lots of friends at work. teachers have it best i believe.
93. i don't make friends very easily. i usually have a few close friends but not big groups. it's hard for me.
94. i handle all of our finances and pay all bills.
95. i have been invested in the stock market since high school.
96. i don't like cold sandwiches but love hot sandwiches.
97. much to adam's dismay, i don't love the beach. i don't like sitting sweating or being sandy. i'm getting better but not there yet.
98. we were much more of a mountains family. we went to vail, co, for a couple weeks every summer and skiing every winter at least once
99. i love talking about baby names. it's getting tougher now since all my friends are having kids so i can't give my real opinions any more. i just have to say i love every name just in case they name their child that. it's going to be hard to choose a name after i have spent so many hundreds of hours talking about it with friends.
100. i hope colby and i can do canine therapy one day. i would love to do nursing homes. he's still a puppy and a little rambunctious now. it will come.

This was so fun to read! I am with you...I rarely forget people when I meet them, so I feel weird when most people are not that way.
I cannot believe you do not like ketchup.....that amazes me!

I also love how much you love being in love!! What an awesome example!

oh, I loved reading this. As a teacher, I do have to say that I did have good teacher friends--maybe because we ate lunch together everyday? I also shared an office with three of them, and I "floated" into three of their classrooms. Hmmm...

And, I am so happy that you and Adam are so happy. Remember all of our "husband" conversations freshman year? We were so stinkin' young.

By the way, I have a doctor's appointment in Atlanta in June, I think June 30th (maybe), and I am leaving Ada here with Scott. Maybe we could do dinner afterwards? If you aren't busy? I will get back to you on that date. Sorry for the longest comment ever.

You have surpassed me in the blogosphere, Granny Coupons. it's hard enough to keep up anymore with posts like this. i couldn't even think of 10 interesting things about myself, much less 100... well done!

What fun to read and thanks for the compliment! Of course, I love that you are in love. I remember faces, but not names. I am in awe of your gift, especially to know all the names of the 300ish people in your school. Wow! See you soon. I'm excited!

that was great sarah! I agree about the beach...i don't like being sandy and I love the mountains more! It also goes along with the being self-consicous about swimsuits :)
love you!
