I read both of these books recently, and they are both awesome. Very different. Sarah's key is about the Holocaust in France and the Middle Place is about a lady with cancer. Both are good and quick reads.
You might also like The Help by Kathryn Stockett. It took me a little while to get into it, but it's a wondeful story set in Mississippi in the 1960's.
